SOL LAVITOLA

My connection with the Puppet Theater began in innocent exploration

of childhood, playfully and unconsciously moving through the arts

plastic and scenic.

Time transformed these daily practices into a passion that led me to train in various branches of art.

In 2002, at 19 years old, I met Pepe García, a master puppeteer who guided my first steps in the world of puppetry. With him I felt that I had found an authentic channel of expression, which brought together the deepest interests and primaries that I kept in me.

In 2010 I formed the Cía together with Lucila Manso. Ánima and we created the Ánima Taller space, a laboratory dedicated to research into the ancient art of string puppets, puppets and automata.

Currently, together with the Epa collective, I am organizing the 3rd Pepe García National Puppet Meeting in the city of Mar del Plata.

My shows aim to be a channel for self-expression, to keep theater alive
of puppets and reach some sensitive place in humanity.
